Downloading?

Just thought I'd see what everyone's view on downloading (music, movies, etc) is.

I do it a lot. But then again, I buy movies and cds a lot. I figure if I like the movie or song/s enough, I'll buy it. If I don't like the ones I download, I just delete them.

I had an interesting talk with a recording artist and she was all for downloading. She figured it was free advertising. She also mentioned that artists earn their money through concerts and such. The money from CDs go towards the record label. Interesting eh?

So what's your view on it?

I do it lol. I don't download movies though. I've really only been downloading j-pop for music lately though - soundtracks and such. I download a lot of photo programs though

I'm a non-downloader because we don't have Kazaa. It gave us a virus last year and my dad only allowed us to download it a few months ago. The stupid thing really screwed up my computer by slowing everything down. So we got rid of it.

I think if I had the chance to buy the album or movie, I'd buy it. My parents just don't like us getting CD's (no idea why. The cost maybe? LOL) but for now I'm okay.

I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Ooo I'm a downloader LOL! Looooooooooong time ago, I was on Napster... then went to Kazaa.... Kazaa started getting real screwey so I never use it anymore. I use iMesh now, and WinMX as my backup.

Downloading is also a good way to get to know other bands. Like for example, before I started liking Linkin Park, I downloaded a song or two by them and realized they're pretty good... so I went out and bought the CD and I've been hooked ever since!!!! (well... more like obsessed/addicted/whatever you wanna call it )

I do! Haha! Used Napster at first, then Kazaa, then Kazaa Lite, (until last night) now I am switched to Ares Lite...seems to be ok...
